Timetable for Creating a Christian TimeLine in Addingham


We are planning a range of complementary and interlinked activities and events, in association with other churches in the village, with the school and with other village organisations, and interested individuals of all ages. Here is the outline timetable : it may change as things develop, and more details will be added, so keep checking!

Summer 2006 Introductory exhibition of project plans : completed
September-November 2006

Dendro-dating of church roof-timber beams : drilling completed

Site-survey by West Yorkshire Archaeological Service for archaeological dig : completed

Preliminary work on stone carving, and visit by stone-carver : completed

Also note :  Great Barn at Bolton Abbey - special Open Day (ticket only) 8th Sept 2007 - of relevance to St. Peter's roof timbers - thanks to Addingham Civic Society  

 

Linked event at St. Peters : Sunday 2nd December, 6pm St. Peter's : "Light out of Darkness" : a candlelit service of readings and music for the beginning of Advent, incorporating Anglo Saxon and Mediaeval prayers

Celebration Weekend, 13-14 September 2008, to include dedication of stone memorial to Saxon ancestors, re-interment of remains of our Saxon ancestors, unveiling of information boards, historical play, music, Saxon Feast, storytelling, historical talks, exhibition
